Six years. That’s how long twenty-four year old Ezekiel Johnson has been away from his hometown, Cypress Point. As the seventh and youngest child with six older ruthless bullying brothers he left and vowed never to return. Ezekiel grew up hating his brothers for their bullying ways; always feeling neglected and picked on. He is no longer that scared, timid little boy. He is a success now. Six years. And now the nightmares return with a vengeance. He gets the message to come home. All of his brothers are dead. His mother needs him. He dreads going back, struggling to find the courage to return to Cypress Point, comparing it to a free man willingly returning to slavery. Something terrible happened to him when he was in Cypress. Something so awful he can’t bring himself to remember it. He arrives and discovers his brothers died a year apart in order of their births, on the same corner at high noon, on the same day—March 15th. The Ides of March. It’s now March 12th and unless he uncovers what happened he is next.

What makes a good book varies by reader. In Ides of March, Gregory Townes combines the supernatural, suspense and timely twists and turns to give every reader that good book feel. From page one, Ides of March grabs your attention and takes you on a rollercoaster ride. How the main character, Ezekiel Johnson, survives the mayhem and craziness of returning to his hometown, Cypress Point, is beyond me. The trials and tribulations of men make you stronger, but damn, EJ is faced with all of his life’s trials and tribulations in a four or five day period, and he must be stronger than any other man who ever had to deal with the treacherous happenings in his hometown. From the moment he jumps on an airplane to fly back to his out of the way hometown, his nerves are frazzled and his emotions are mixed. On one hand, he wants to be the good son and be there for his mother. On the other hand, he wants to stay away from the madness. I have to say, Mr. Gregory Townes has a mind that rivals Stephen King. Everything good about a book, Ides of March delivers. This was a great read and one helluva page turner. For me, one thing is for damn sure, if I ever see a sign that says Cypress Point, I am driving a hundred miles out of the way to get away from the craziness. This is a must read!Product details

The Ides of March Gregory Townes 9780615776255 Books Reviews
THE STORY LINE HAD ME ON A ROLLER-COASTER OF SUSPENSE. WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE BOOK MADE INTO A MOVIE.
I WILL BE LOOKING FORWARD TO READING MORE BOOKS BY GREGORY TOWNES. FOR "WHEEL"!!!
I've read Gregory Townes book the Tribe and it was one of my favorite books. I have now added another book written by him The Ides of March. I was on the edge of my seat while reading this book. I'm hooked on this author.
Gregory Townes is a jewel among writers. His story takes you on a wonderful ride and he doesn't disappoint you. It's not hard to get hooked on his stories and you find yourself completely immersed. He grips you from the very start and doesn't let go. There is only one drawback that I should warn you about.... and that is once you've finished reading his book, you'll find yourself on pins and needles waiting for his next book! There just aren't enough adjectives to describe the experience. I'm a fan!
Wow! I'm not a big time reader but I've read this book is in less than 5 days. It was a captivating piece and definitely a page turner. The witty, relatable, and charismatic dialogue kept my eyes glued to the pages and my mind racing. I grew attached to the characters, I felt for them; whether it was empathy for the protagonists or hatred for the antagonists. I was an emotional wreck by the last chapter! This novel has taken me on a roller coaster ride that'll I'll pay to get on again. The concept, plot, twists and execution of it all was impressive even for my father. A man who's always been gifted with words and story-telling. Yes, I am Gregory Townes' youngest and I'm exceptionally proud of his work and I'll recommend it to anyone who cares for a good read.
Congratulations to my friend, Gregory Townes, for a very well written book. It was a little different from some of the books that I've read and it took a little while to get a grip on what was really going on, but then it took off. The ending was unpredictable. I didn't see it coming. I have a question.....Will the seventh child be a boy or a girl? Sounds like a possible sequel.
I had been waiting for another book from this author after reading The Tribe. He did not disappoint! Gregory Townes has the ability to get you so wrapped up in the story that you completely become a part of the book. It was a quick read for my book club. It definitely left an impression on all of us. And it made a great book club read because you could interpret so much that each person had a different take on various parts of the story. Now we're just waiting for what's next!
I just adore Mr. Townes work! This book was Sci-fi at its best. Well written piece of work with tons of detailed biblical references. Who would have thought about making Ezekiel and the wheel such a Powerful source for one town? Claire was so evil and I never thought her demise would end that way. I will say that Lukie got what he deserved. Ezekiel got it right the mind is such a Powerful tool. I know there has to be a part two for that seventh son. Nice work!
