No matter if you are looking to read up in history or religion this book has it. It really teaches you about more than you think. Many people think there are just Muslims in the middle east, but there is much more like Christians and Druzes and this book explains that. I wish there were more books out there like this.
The book is not an easy read.It's more like an academic paper with many footnotes that references other works. Terms and names are not well explained.
I didn't get much information about the people or their beliefs. Mostly this book is just a book with very little useful information.
In view of the situation in the Middle East right now, and forever it seems, this is an important addition to anyone's library who cares about religious freedom and the safety of small groups.
This book is a very informative introduction to the mysterious religion of the Druze. I wish it had more information on the religious beliefs of Druze. Nonetheless, I would recommend it to others.
